News for Mobile World Congress 2011


The GSMA today announced several new products for its Mobile World Congress 2011, to be held from 14 to 17 February 2011 in Barcelona. The mobile application developers will be at the party.
The annual extravaganza of the mobile sector is now preparing a full timetable for developers of mobile applications. Building on the success of the first edition of the Planet app, which took place in 2010, the GSMA has decided to expand its program aimed at developers of its Mobile World Congress 2011, to include new events such as Macworld Mobile (for the community of developers working on Apple's IOS) and the Brand Challenge App.



Macworld Mobile will be held in conjunction with IDG World Expo (Macworld organizers) for mobile developers on the platform of the iPhone and Apple iPad. Macworld iOS Mobile Developer Conference will provide a one-day training on this platform, through technical sessions designed specifically for developers and engineers of mobile applications.

The GSMA will also launch a competition focused on the creation by the developers of mobile applications, apps brand. Developers do battle by creating custom mobile applications for brands participating sponsors. The idea is to create the final year of business opportunities and networking between brands and application developers.

Research In Motion (RIM) will again partner of the Planet app and submit an EDA for 500 BlackBerry Developer Tuesday, February 15, 2011. For its part, Palm will also be a partner and hold a CDA full day Wednesday, February 16, 2011.
